Light showers are expected to begin the work week in the Umpqua Valley with more rain coming later in the week.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that highs on Monday and Tuesday will be in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees. A big front is forecast to move into the region on Wednesday bringing lots of rain with amounts of over one inch possible. Snow levels will drop to 2,800 feet early Thursday with possible frost on Thursday night.
Forecasters said a new weather system starting Friday will bring sunshine and above normal temperatures with highs of around 70 degrees possible for the weekend.
