Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported theft of candy and donuts Friday morning.
An RPD report said at 6:10 a.m. officers responded to a store in the 2600 block of West Harvard Avenue after an employee called in the theft. Officers located the 31-year-old suspect riding a bicycle eastbound, but the man fled when contacted. Officers chased him for approximately one quarter of a mile before deploying a taser and taking the man into custody.
He was charged with third-degree counts of theft and escape. Bail was set at $6,250. The man was still in custody as of Tuesday morning.
