Former Sutherlin City Manager Jerry Gillham has recently taken on a new role as the Yoncalla City Administrator.

Gillham told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that he worked for the City of Sutherlin from April of 2012 until his retirement at the end of 2025. Gillham said he left the position in Sutherlin early to deal with multiple health issues. Gillham saw doctors at the Portland VA and Oregon Health Sciences University who he called “great”. He credited the medical staff and God for helping him to recover so that he could work again.

After discovering that the City of Yoncalla was seeking a new administrator, Gillham inquired on a Friday, received an email from Mayor Pauline Kingery the following Monday and was scheduled for an interview that Wednesday. Killham was sworn in on February 10th.

Gillham said of his new job, “It’s wonderful. I’m truly having the time of my life”.
