ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED PRIOR BURGLARY

Roseburg Police jailed a man Wednesday for an alleged prior burglary incident.

An RPD report said during an ongoing investigation at a business in the 200 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard, 35-year-old Justin Miars was developed as a suspect. Miars was seen on video at the time of the burglary and allegedly stole multiple phones along with a smart watch. Miars then reportedly sold the stolen phones at kiosks in Junction City and Cottage Grove later that same day.

The suspect was located at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday checking in with his parole officer in the 1000 block of Southeast Douglas Avenue and was detained. Miars was charged with second-degree burglary, four counts of first-degree theft, second-degree criminal mischief, three counts of computer crime and a parole violation. He was detained without bail.
