Roseburg Police charged a man with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on Tuesday morning.
An RPD report said a victim said his vehicle had been stolen in the early morning hours on Monday from a residence in the 2000 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The keys were not in the vehicle, and the pickup had a quarter tank of gasoline. The victim said there was damage to the hood and front bumper of the vehicle. Additionally, there are two faded Indian logos behind both doors.
A suspect was contacted in the vehicle on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The 36-year-old was detained and admitted to taking the vehicle. He stated that he had permission from the previous owner to drive it anytime.
The man was detained without bail.
