MYRTLE CREEK MAN JAILED FOLLOWING REPORTED DISTURBANCE

A Myrtle Creek man was jailed following a reported disturbance on Thursday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 8:30 p.m. 41-year-old John Ireland and a victim got into an argument in the 900 block of Bilger Creek Road in the Myrtle Creek area. During the argument, the victim reportedly hit the suspect several times in the head then Ireland allegedly punched the victim in the face, causing her nose to bleed and causing the victim to fall to the floor.

The incident was witnessed by juveniles, one of whom tried to break up the disturbance, and called 911. Ireland was charged with fourth-degree felony assault, harassment, and interfering with making a police report. He was detained without bail.
