Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported store theft on Wednesday.

An RPD report said shortly before 2:00 p.m. loss prevention staff detained a 22-year-old man for a theft from a store in the 2500 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. The man admitted to leaving the store without paying for $39 in merchandise. The man was also on probation, and his probation officer authorized a detainer.

The man was charged with third-degree theft and the probation violation. Bail was set at $1,250.
