TRANSIENT JAILED FOR WARRANTS AFTER BEING REPORTED AS MISSING

A Yoncalla area transient was jailed for warrants after being reported as missing on Monday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said the 33-year-old Yoncalla area woman and a male were near the 2500 block of Yokum Road in the Riddle area. The woman wandered off toward a steep mountain and was not seen again. The male reported the woman missing and signed a missing person form. Deputies searched the area with drones and a K9 and were unable to locate the woman.

Around 10:45 p.m. the woman was located in the 1200 block of Yokum Road where she was taken into custody without incident. During a search a deputy reportedly found a small user amount of methamphetamine. She was evaluated by ambulance and later transported to the jail where she was detained on several warrants. Bail was set at $30,000. The woman was cited for unlawful possession of methamphetamine
