Roseburg Police jailed a woman after an early morning elude incident on Thursday.
An RPD report said just before 3:20 a.m. officers responded to Costco in the 4100 block of Northeast Stephens Street after a caller said there was a suspicious vehicle parked behind the store in a restricted area. RPD officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop as the vehicle was getting onto Interstate Five northbound at the Edenbower Boulevard Exit 127 on ramp. The vehicle eluded officers north to the Winchester Exit at milepost 129, and continued through Winchester, up Newton Creek Road, before turning off road and eventually returning to Northeast Stephens Street, where it parked at a residence. The chase lasted for approximately twenty five minutes.
The driver, 49-year-old Leslie Jordan was arrested and charged with attempting to elude police in a vehicle, reckless driving, second-degree criminal trespass, and a parole violation. She was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, illegal U-turn and failure to maintain a lane. Jordan was detained without bail.
