UMPQUA VALLEY AUDUBON/LIBRARY TO HOST NESTING BIRDS TALK

The Umpqua Valley Audubon Society and the Roseburg Public Library will offer, “The Hidden World of Nesting Birds” at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11th.

The virtual presentation viz Zoom will feature Robyn Bailey of Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Attendees can participate at the library on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard of via the library’s Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/roseburglibrary. A Facebook account is not required.

Spring is nesting season and sometimes the secrets can be spotted hiding in plain sight. Bailey will share a lively and insightful presentation on the nesting cycle. Discover fascinating behaviors of nesting birds, learn how to spot them in a backyard and find out how observations can contribute to scientific research.

Bailey is the project leader for NestWatch, an international participatory science program based at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. She researches trends in avian nesting success using data provided by community scientists. Her work has been published in academic journals, a book, magazines, blogs, and pocket guides. Bailey has been at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology for 15 years.
