Sutherlin Police charged a man with a probation violation on Tuesday.

An SPD report said at 3:30 p.m. officers had contact with the 49-year-old in the 1300 block of West Central Avenue, regarding a hit and run he had allegedly committed in Springfield. During that contact, it was found that the man had violated his probation.

He was taken into custody and detained without bail.
