STATE POICE JAIL ONE PERSON, CITE ONE, AFTER LOCATING STOLEN VEHICLE

Troopers with Oregon State Police jailed one person and cited another after locating a stolen vehicle in the Camas Valley area on Tuesday.

An OSP report said shortly after 11;00 a.m. while searching for a subject with arrest warrant at milepost 4.5 on Signal Tree Road, the stolen car was found at a transient camp on Bureau of Land Management property. Troopers spoke with the 46-year-old female at the location, who was associated with the wanted subject. While investigating the possession of the vehicle, the female allowed officers to search the trailer for the wanted subject.

24-year-old Jered Thompson was found hiding in the trailer and was taken into custody. Thompson was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and other charges. Thompson was detained on $25,000.

The woman was issued citations to appear in court for possession of a stolen vehicle and hindering prosecution.

The stolen vehicle was recovered and towed from the scene.
