Roseburg Police cited a man for unlawful possession of inhalants on Monday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 2:45 p.m. the 28-year-old was contacted under the Oak Avenue Bridge in the 300 block of Southeast Oak Avenue. where he was actively huffing nitrous oxide from a large canister. The man claimed he was unaware it was unlawful because he had just purchased the canister at a store with a mouthpiece on it. The man was cited and released on the scene. The gas canister was seized as evidence.
