One driver was taken to the hospital after a freeway crash late Thursday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 5:30 p.m. troopers responded to the wreck on Interstate Five northbound near the Highway 99/Highway 42 Winston exit. A van had rear-ended a sedan causing damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the sedan was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center by ambulance for possible injuries. The driver of the van was cited for following too closely. The van was recovered by a towing company.
