The Celebration of Literacy 2026 is having its signature event on Saturday at Wildlife Safari.
In its 25th year, the annual series of events is held to promote reading. It is presented by the Altrusa Club of Roseburg and the Umpqua Literacy Council.
This year’s theme is: “Once Upon a Dragon: 25 Years of Celebrating Reading”.
On Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. adults with a driver’s license that has a Douglas County address will get their vehicle admitted to the Wildlife Safari Drive-Thru for free. In the Safari Village, there will be animal encounters, a fishing booth, book exchange, crafts and a book giveaway.
