A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night.

A Sutherlin Police Department report said at 7:00 p.m. officers responded to the 300 block of Waite Street after a caller said a vehicle had hit a pedestrian. It was found that the driver was heading northbound at that location when she felt something struck by her vehicle. The driver noticed she had hit a person.

The woman hit had been in the roadway in that location and was wearing all black with no lights. She was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The report does not indicate if any citations were issued.
