A driver was cited following a commercial motor vehicle freeway crash on Wednesday evening.

An Oregon State Police report said shortly after 6:00 p.m. the vehicle was pulling a trailer and was northbound on Interstate Five near the Myrtle Creek Exit 108. The semi entered a portion of the roadway with tight curves. While navigating through the area, the commercial motor vehicle tipped to the passenger side. The combination came to rest on the shoulder, partially blocking the outside lane of travel.

The driver, a 60-year-old man from Las Vegas, Nevada, said he was attempting to change lanes to go around a slower vehicle. Caution signs are posted prior to the section of roadway reminding drivers to reduce speed. The operator was cited for careless driving. A towing company responded to recover the commercial motor vehicle.
