WINTER STORM WARNING/WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY THROUGH 10:00 A.M .THURSDAY

A Winter Storm Warning above 1,500 feet and a Winter Weather Advisory below 1,500 feet continue through 10:00 a.m. Thursday for central Douglas County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said for the Winter Storm Warning, additional snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches are expected. This applies to Glendale and Tiller as well as portions of Interstate Five south of Canyonville and Canyon Creek Pass on Interstate Five around 2,000 feet.

For the Winter Weather Advisory, wet snow with additional snow accumulations up to 3 inches, with mixed precipitation at elevations below 800 feet. Snow is expected to taper off by mid-morning Thursday. This applies to Roseburg, Sutherlin, Elkton, Camas Valley and Canyonville as well as portions of Interstate Five, including Roberts Mountain Pass and highways 42 and 138.

Forecasters said travel may be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Those who must travel should keep an extra flashlight, food and water in their vehicle in case of an emergency. Check www.tripcheck.com for current road information.
