Roseburg Police jailed a man on three charges Tuesday, following an alleged prior incident.
An RPD report said officers received information on Monday where a victim stated that 66-year-old Ronald Pacheco Sr. had driven off the road onto a curb, directly at the victim in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The victim was able to move but was allegedly struck in the arm.
Officers were able to review footage of the incident, which was consistent with the victim’s account. The footage showed Pacheco’s vehicle drive across several lanes of travel, onto a curb, directly at the victim.
Pacheco was contacted Tuesday at 9:20 a.m. and admitted to driving the vehicle but denied intentionally trying to hit the victim with his vehicle. He was charged with recklessly endangering another person, attempting to commit a Class A felony and failure to perform the duties of a driver to an injured person. Pacheco was detained without bail.
