A man evaded capture after the vehicle he was driving was located by a trooper with Oregon State Police on Wednesday afternoon.

An OSP report said just after 4:30 p.m. the sports car was found on Signal Tree Road off of Highway 42, east of the Camas Valley area. The vehicle had been involved in an elude incident with OSP the previous week, but it had not been pursued.

The vehicle was occupied by a male, and the vehicle was not mobile. The man was told that he was not free to leave and was questioned. He eventually fled on foot and was not located in the surrounding area. The sports car was towed from the scene after a search warrant for the vehicle had been executed.

The 24-year-old man is wanted for third-degree escape and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. The case was referred to the Douglas County District Attorney’s office for consideration.
