The Umpqua Valley should see normal seasonal conditions through Thursday with colder wetter weather on the way Friday through Sunday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that afternoon highs will stay around 50 degrees for much of the week. A trough from the Gulf of Alaska will move into the region on Friday leading to moisture and lower high temperatures by the weekend. Snow fall levels are expected to be down to 2,500 feet on Saturday and may drop to 2,000 feet on Sunday. Forecasters said this could mean snow visible on the higher hills of the area. Snow is not forecast for Roseburg.
On Sunday, the Roseburg Regional Airport measured 1.48 inches of rain. That is near the record rainfall for the date, which is 1.65 inches recorded in 1960. As of Sunday, Roseburg has received 1.83 inches of rain for the month of February.
