SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWNG REPORTED DISTURBANCE

Sutherlin Police jailed a man on fifteen charges following a reported disturbance on Thursday night.

An SPD report said just before 10:00 p.m. officers responded to a home in the 200 block of East Third Avenue. After a lengthy investigation, 50-year-old Christopher Pendergast was taken into custody. He was charged with a felony count of strangulation, a felony county of fourth-degree assault, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, attempted third-degree assault, and five counts each of reckless endangering and menacing. Pendergast was detained without bail.

Captain Ben Woodard of the SPD said the disturbance is still under investigation and more charges are pending.
