Roseburg Police jailed one man and cited a woman following a camping/littering incident on Wednesday.

An RPD report said just before 8:00 a.m. the 35-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were found camping in a restricted area in the 2600 block of Northwest Edenbower Boulevard. This was according to the “time, place and manner” guidelines of the city’s camping ordinance. The campsite was cluttered with garbage such as food items and old tarps. An officer along with the work crew cleaned up the area of trash.

The man was charged with prohibited camping and offensive littering. He was detained on $5,000 bail. The woman was cited and released on scene for the same crime and violation.
