DRIVER RECEIVES SERIOUS INJURIES IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK

A driver was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident east of Idleyld Park early Wednesday morning.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 5:00 a.m. the crash was reported on Highway 138E near milepost 43. A pickup was traveling eastbound when it went onto the shoulder of the road and into a tree. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle hit a stop sign and destroyed an Oregon Department of Transportation road marker during the crash.

The driver, a Roseburg man, was transported by Glide Rural Fire Protection District to their station where a REACH helicopter landed and transported the man to Peace Health Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield. The pickup was towed from the scene.
