The Sutherlin School District Board of Directors has announced that two candidates have been selected for interviews for the superintendent position.
That role will become available on July 1st upon the retirement of current Superintendent Terry Prestianni. The candidates selected for an interview are:
*Pendleton School District Human Resources Director Kevin Dinning
*Sutherlin High School Principal Jon Martz
Interviews will be conducted on February 4th. Staff will have the opportunity to meet the final candidates and submit input to the board about each of them. The board intends to make their selection shortly after the interviews.
The Sutherlin School District retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson, LLC to assist in conducting their search. The consultants reviewed, screened and conducted extensive background checks on 20 applicants. On January 27th, the consultants presented the applicants to the Board of Directors and provided them with detailed background information on each applicant. The board selected 2 candidates as finalists.
