Troopers with Oregon State Police dealt with a vehicle fire on Interstate Five northbound on Tuesday night.
An OSP report said at approximately 9:45 p.m. the large van caught fire about a mile south of the summit of Roberts Mountain. The owner stated they had just filled up with gas a few miles prior. The California man said he unintentionally put 91 octane premium fuel in the vehicle, when he usually uses regular. The van drove without issue until the fire began. The engine compartment and the interior of the vehicle burned completely.
The occupants were given a courtesy ride to a Roseburg hotel. They were traveling from Los Angeles, California to Seattle, Washington. A towing company recovered the vehicle.
