Roseburg tied the record lowest high temperature for January 15th on Thursday.

Data from the National Weather Service in Medford said the mercury only reached 36 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That tied the record lowest high temperature for the date which was set in 2014. The normal high temperature for this week in January is 50 degrees. The all-time record lowest high temperature for the month of January in Roseburg is 27 degrees, which was set in 1968.

Forecasters told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that a ridge of high pressure remains in place over the region, which is leading to cold conditions and stagnant air. Forecasters said the weather pattern will likely remain in place for at least another week.
