An Air Stagnation Advisory is in effect through 4:00 a.m. Friday for central Douglas County.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said poor air quality will continue. This is due to an inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface that will continue to trap pollutants in the valleys in Douglas County.
Poor air quality may cause issues for people with respiratory problems. Most outdoor burning will likely be prohibited as poor ventilation continues.
A strong area of high pressure remains in place. This will lead to poor mixing of the atmosphere and the trapping of pollutants. The high weakens slightly on Sunday and it is likely to strengthen again early next week.
Drivers should slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of their vehicle.
