A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. through Thursday at 10:00 a.m. for the eastern Douglas County foothills.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said heavy snow is possible above 3,000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches, except up to 18 inches above 4,000 feet.

The Watch area also includes Highway 138E east of Steamboat and especially from Toketee Falls eastward.

Forecasters said travel may be very difficult to impossible.
