Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported assault incident on Monday morning.

An RPD report said at 9:25 a.m. officers contacted the 35-year-old regarding a physical altercation that allegedly occurred in the 2700 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. Officers found that the suspect had punched a victim on the ear, leaving a serious cut that opened, causing it to bleed profusely.

The man admitted to hitting the victim. He was taken into custody and transported to corrections. The man was charged with fourth-degree assault. Bail was set at $6,250.
