A transient was jailed following an alleged trespass and disorderly conduct incident on Thursday morning.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:30 a.m. 42-year-old Andrew Atterbury was called in after he allegedly refused to leave a business in the 4700 block of Northeast Stephens Street. When a deputy arrived, Atterbury reportedly walked directly onto Stephens Street, causing several vehicles to have to stop.
When the deputy attempted to arrest Atterbury, he allegedly began to pull away and resisted being placed into cuffs. The suspect was taken to the ground where he continued to pull away. Atterbury reportedly continued to keep his hand tucked under his body to prevent him from being arrested. The deputy was later able to remove the man’s hand and detain him.
Atterbury was charged with second-degree counts of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was detained without bail and was released on Friday morning.
