A Wind Advisory is in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday over areas west of the Cascades.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said south winds of 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour are expected.
The Advisory area includes central Douglas County and its eastern foothills, eastern Curry County, and Josephine and Jackson counties.
Forecasters said gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Residents should secure large or inflatable holiday decorations. Winds this strong will be capable of damaging these items. Secure light outdoor objects like tents or empty trash bins as well.
