WIND ADVISORY CALLS FOR HIGHER WINDS IN THE ROSEBURG AREA

December 23, 2025 11:10 a.m.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 10:00 p.m. Tuesday through 1:00 p.m. Wednesday for central Douglas County, eastern Curry County and Josephine County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said southeast winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour are expected. For the Roseburg area, wind gusts as high as 40 miles per hour are more likely.

The Advisory area includes the entire Interstate 5 corridor, especially over the passes between Grants Pass and Canyonville.

Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects, and a few power outages may result. Large inflatable holiday decorations will be blown about. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
