Douglas Electric Cooperative has 100 meters that remain without power, as of midday on Thursday.
Chief Operating Officer Phil Bigler said all crews are in the field, working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
Bigler said the majority of these outages are in the coastal area, with a small number affecting members in Drain, Elkton, and Yoncalla areas. With the coast remaining under a High Wind Advisory through Friday, Bigler said it’s possible there may be additional outages in that region.
A few members are in the Lower Smith River area where repairs require crews to cross the river. Bigler said for safety reasons, this work cannot take place until river levels come down to a safer level.
