ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR PROBATION VIOLATION

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a probation violation early Thursday.

An RPD report said at 1:50 a.m. officers contacted the 41-year-old while responding to a report of a suspicious male walking near resident’s vehicles and into their carports near the area of Northwest Luth Street and Northwest Utah Drive.

The man was found a couple of blocks away and was questioned regarding the report. The suspect denied involvement but was wanted by his probation officer. The man also admitted to having a user amount of methamphetamine in his possession. He was detained and transported to corrections. The man was detained without bail. He was cited for the drug charge and was released later on Thursday.
