LEARN ABOUT LANDSLIDES IN FORESTED LANDSCAPES

The Oregon State University Extension Service Forestry and Natural Resources program will hold a workshop titled, “Landslides in Forested Landscapes” on Wednesday.

It will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Extension office on Southeast Douglas Avenue, next to the courthouse in Roseburg.

Workshop participants will learn about the geologic processes, risk factors and impacts of landslides that affect small forest landowners. Instructors will cover an introduction to slope stability, an overview of the Oregon Department of Forestry forest practices rules that relate to slope stability and an introduction to digital resources.

Speakers will include experts from OSU and the Oregon Department of Forestry.

Participants needing Oregon Professional Logger continuing education credits through Associated Oregon Loggers will receive three credits at the workshop.
