A commercial building sustained structural, smoke and water damage due to a fire on Wednesday night.
Battalion Chief Shane Ronk of the Roseburg Fire Department said just before 7:15 p.m. personnel responded to a smoke investigation in the vicinity of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard and Northeast Ivan Street. Ronk said upon investigation, it was found to be a commercial structure fire in the 2400 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard, Suite- L.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find smoke showing from the garage door and the eves of the building. Ronk said the building did not currently house a business and was being utilized for storage. Firefighters extinguished the fire, ventilated the structure and stopped forward spread of the fire to the remaining portions of the building. Crews completed a search of the structure and determined that there were no occupants inside the building at the time of the fire.
Ronk said firefighters remained on scene to complete overhaul. Two fire investigators were on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Ronk said twenty-four firefighters assisted at the scene. Assisting agencies included Central Douglas Fire & Rescue, Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Avista Utilities, Pacific Power and the Roseburg Police Department.
