Roseburg Police jailed a man for a warrant and other charges on Thursday.

An RPD report said at 1:45 p.m. two people were contacted after they were called in for arguing in the 100 block of Atkinson Court. 32-year-old Christopher Kelsey is on parole and is not supposed to have contact with the other person. While officers were talking with Kelsey, he threw a glass pipe against a wall, causing it to shatter.

Officers checked the suspect through dispatch, and he returned with a warrant. The man was taken into custody. While Kelsey was in the back of a patrol vehicle, he allegedly grabbed a small bag of a crystallized substance from his pocket and attempted to destroy it, by throwing it on the ground and stomping it. The substance tested positive for amphetamines.

Kelsey was also charged with tampering with physical evidence, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. He was detained on $6,250 bail.
