ROSEBURG PUBLIC LIBRARY SURVEYS COMMUNITY

Roseburg Public Library is updating its strategic plan and asking community members to help plan for the future.

Library Director Kris Wiley said, “Please take five to ten minutes to complete a survey, which will gibe us focus and direction for providing services to the community. No matter how often you use the library, your feedback is valuable.”

A city release said the survey is available in English and in Spanish. It is linked on the library’s website at: www.roseburgpubiclibrary.org and on its Facebook page.

Responses are due by Sunday, December 7th.

The library’s first strategic plan was created in 2020 by Resource Assistance for Rural Environments AmeriCorps member Kai Fischer and a committee of staff and community members. That document and annual reviews are available on the library’s website under the tab “2021-2025 Strategic Plan”.

For the update, the library hired Stephanie Chase of Constructive Disruption. Chase is leading a group of staff and community members in a process that will include focus groups, interviews, and personal requests to complete the survey.

The new five-year plan will benefit from the perspective staff have gained after the library has been open for seven years. One of Wiley’s primary considerations is capacity – in the number of hours the library is open, in staffing, in programming and in all the components required to provide public library services.

Wiley said, “Your survey responses will help us to prioritize these services. This is your library so please take a few minutes to tell us how it can work best for you”.
