The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has determined that a recent threat directed at Glide High School is not credible.

A DCSO release said on Monday, deputies were made aware of a post circulating on social media that appeared to make specific threats toward Glide High School. Deputies worked closely with school officials to ensure the safety of students and staff while the matter was investigated.

As part of this investigation, deputies contacted an individual who was initially believed to be responsible for the post. After conducting interviews and reviewing available investigative resources, deputies confirmed that the individual did not make the threat and does not pose a danger to the school. Deputies are continuing to investigate the matter as a hoax set up by another student to implicate the alleged individual.

The release said out of an abundance of caution, there is an increased law enforcement presence on the campus on Tuesday, and school will remain in session. DCSO continues to coordinate with school officials. At this time, no credible threat exists to Glide High School.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is encouraged to contact DCSO at 440-4471.
