MYRTLE CREEK MAN INJURED IN SINGLE-VEHICLE WRECK ON THURSDAY

A Myrtle Creek man was injured in a single vehicle wreck on Thursday afternoon.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 3:10 p.m. troopers responded to the crash on Interstate 5 southbound near the Tri City exit 103. The 67-year-old driver was having a medical emergency and passed out, causing him to crash into the cable barrier median. The driver continued to have medical issues and was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. He was listed in serious condition as of Friday afternoon, according to a hospital spokesperson.

The vehicle was recovered by a towing company.
