Roseburg Police jailed a woman for depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway and prohibited camping early Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 5:00 a.m. officers contacted the 42-year-old at her camp in Deer Creek Park in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street. The report said the camp violated the time, place, and manner ordinance and had rubbish strewn around it. The woman said the trash was not hers but claimed the river rocks right next to a pile of trash which was well within 100 yards of the South Umpqua River.

The woman also had four prior convictions for prohibited camping with the most recent one being July 3rd. She was taken into custody without incident. Bail was set at $7,500.
