A Roseburg man was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 5:40 a.m. the man crashed his pickup into the side of the hill while driving in the fog near the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Lookingglass Road near the Green District. The driver was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center by a friend. Hospital staff told DCSO that the man was wearing his seat belt and sustained a facial injury during the crash.
The vehicle also hit a yield sign, so county Public Works staff were notified. The man was cited for violation of the basic rule. A towing company recovered the vehicle.
