Roseburg Police jailed a man for a warrant and for criminal counts of prohibited camping on Tuesday.

An RPD report said just after 10:30 a.m. officers contacted 34-year-old Anthony Guiterrez who was camped approximately four feet from the South Umpqua River, between the bike path and the river, near the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street. His camp was in violation of the “place” portion of the city’s camping ordinance. Guiterrez had two prior convictions for prohibited camping and returned with a failure to appear warrant. He was taken into custody and transported to corrections.  Bail was set at $16,250.
