SEMI-TRUCK AND SPORTS CAR COLLIDE ON INTERSTATE FIVE NORTHBOUND

November 6, 2025 9:50 a.m.

A semi-truck and a sports car collided on Interstate Five northbound on Wednesday evening.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 5:30 p.m. troopers responded to the crash near milepost 120, just north of the South Umpqua River bridge. A semi-truck pulling a trailer in the fast lane and a sports car traveling in the slow lane both attempted to merge into the center lane at the same time. The front right bumper of the semi and the back left bumper of the sports car made contact, causing the second vehicle to spin out and collide with the center median, coming to an uncontrolled stop in the lefthand shoulder.

The sports car was towed from the scene. The semi-truck was able to drive away. No citations were issued according to the report.
