One man was injured in a single vehicle crash in north Douglas County on Tuesday night.
A report from Oregon State Police said at 9:20 p.m. troopers responded to the wreck on Highway 38W near milepost 36 in the Elkton area. The driver of a pickup lost control and crashed off the side of the road, rolling his vehicle, and coming to an uncontrolled stop at the bottom of a small gorge.
The driver showed signs of impairment, and a search warrant was approved to obtain a sample of the man’s blood. He was released at CHI Mercy Medical Center for unknown injuries after being cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. The man was later transferred to a medical facility out of the area.
Crews from Kellog Rural Fire District and the Elkton Rural Fire Protection District provided traffic control and assisted with the extrication of the driver.
