ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED PAST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged past domestic violence incident on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 7:50 a.m. 50-year-old Benjamin Kruse was contacted near the intersection of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard and Northeast Winchester Street, because probable cause existed to arrest him.

During a prior incident, Kruse allegedly placed his hand over a victim’s mouth and nose. He also reportedly struck her with a flashlight. Kruse was placed into custody and during a search he was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was taken to corrections.

Kruse was charged with felony counts of strangulation and assault, and for menacing. He was cited for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Kruse was detained without bail.
