The Douglas County Board of Commissioners have announced that the county will again participate in Operation Green Light.
During the month of November, as part of Veterans and Military Families Month, the front of the courthouse will be illuminated with green lights to show appreciation and support for veterans and their families. A county release said the commissioners encourage everyone to shine a light of hope and support for veterans by placing a green light on their porch or outside light fixture.
County government is joining with the National Association of Counties, the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers and other counties, parishes, and boroughs in the U.S. in supporting Operation Green Light to show support for veterans and let them know they are seen, appreciated and supported.
