A transient was jailed following a reported burglary incident on Wednesday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 9:00 p.m. 35-year-old Dwight Proctor was found inside a shed in the 600 block of Northwest Newton Creek Drive. Proctor allegedly fled the scene before deputies arrived and wasn’t contacted. Proctor had moved his belongings into the shed and appeared to be living there. There was damage to the exterior door that the man had apparently caused.

Proctor was located later and admitted to the crimes. He was charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief. He was detained without bail.
