A Roseburg man was hospitalized after he reportedly crashed into a large metal pole on Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard on Saturday night.

The Roseburg Police Department reported that the 30-year-old man was driving west around 10 p.m. when he went up and over the curb and crashed into the pole. The man allegedly admitted to officers that he had been drinking prior to the crash.

He was transported to Mercy Medical Center for his injuries and police were granted a search warrant for blood samples taken by hospital staff.

RPD cited the man for DUII and he was released to be transferred to an outside area hospital.
